Intuitive Tuesday -- Four of Swords (reversed)

Every Tuesday I select one card and give you my interpretation of it. See how it applies to your life and ask, "What messages are here for you?"

This week's card is the Four of Swords (reversed). In its upright position, this card indicates a time of rest and rejuvenation. It reminds you to rest, relax and take time for renewal. Now is a time of retreat and relief after stress. Out of this will come greater strength and insights as to what is next.

For more information about the Four of Swords, click here or here.

Today, however, the Four of Swords is in its reversed (upside down) position. Instead of taking a needed time out, this indicates that you have had some time for spiritual renewal and now it's time to get back into the action.

It's time to get back to work, possibly on something that you have set aside for some reason. It may also mean that it's time to take a firm stand on a conflict you've possibly been avoiding. And more gently, it can indicate that you are feeling better or are recovering nicely and can now resume your former level of activity.

Because the Four of Swords is a time for both spiritual and physical renewal, you may be feeling more spiritually connected and content. The feeling is like waking up after a refreshing nap to take on the rest of your day. Get the idea?

A Personal Example:
Two of my kids have been staying with family for the past two weeks. I've missed them, yes, but have also been enjoying more time to myself, less driving around, less mess, less laundry, etc. AND, I also miss them...a lot! But it's A LOT easier with only one kid!!!
My Four of Swords (reversed) is me getting ready to welcome my kids back and preparing for them (mentally, spiritually and physically). They come back today and I've been rushing around washing and changing bed linens, catching up on some household chores and getting ready to face their arrival with preparation, joy and enthusiasm.
What does the Four of Swords (reversed) indicate for you today? What are you ready to face, tackle or handle that perhaps you had put aside?

Welcome the Four of Swords (reversed) energy into your life. It will help you to keep moving forward.

Perfect Moment Monday -- Life Long Teachers

Each week I participate in Perfect Moment Monday, sponsored by the blog, WeeblesWobblog.com. According to Weebles, "Perfect Moment Monday is about noticing a perfect moment rather than creating one. Perfect Moments can be momentous or ordinary or somewhere in between." And so, here is a Perfect Moment for this week.

I started playing the piano around the age of four. My Mom was my first teacher until some time in elementary school, I started taking "official" private lessons from the same woman who taught my older sister, Lori. My piano teacher's name was Mrs. D.

To give you an idea of how much she loves music, Mrs. D has two grand pianos in her living room (and had knocked out a wall to fit them both in the L-shaped room). The two pianos face each other so two pianists can easily look at each other while playing a two-piano duet.

My piano playing abilities now probably do not reflect the number of years that I took lessons or the quality of the teacher. But I do enjoy playing every once in a while and am amazed that my fingers and brain still remember how to cooperate and play music.

A couple of weeks ago while I was visiting home, I had learned that Mrs. D (who is now in her '90s) was moved into an assisted living home. My sisters and I decided to go visit her.

We had less than twenty minutes, which we knew would not be enough time, but it was important to go see her and enjoy any time we had with her.

When we walked in, Mrs. D was sitting comfortably in a recliner in her room.  As we walked in, she held her hands up to us, glanced from one face to the next and engulfed us with a look of love.

"Three angels just walked in to see me," she smiled.

We spent time catching up -- how are the kids, what are you doing, etc. -- and made sure to tell her that we only had limited time to spend with her.

As my sister, Lori, announced that we needed to leave, Mrs. D said, "Please just stay two more minutes."

Lori quickly responded, "We can stay long enough for a short song." Smiling, I knew exactly which song, Dona Nobis, a three-part song that we recently sang and posted over Christmas.

It was more difficult for me to sing this time because I felt so emotional. It wasn't sad...but more inspired and touched by this lovely lady who had taught me so much...and the beauty of the moment.

As we ended our song, she smiled, held each of our hands to her cheeks and closed her eyes.

I was engulfed in the magic of this Perfect Moment.

Thank you, Mrs D, for being such an inspiration for my love of music and for being so wonderful to me as I opened my heart and my life to music.

It was truly a Perfect Moment!

My Yoga -- Studying and Exploring

I began my Yoga Teacher Training this summer and am completely enjoying learning more about myself and my yoga practice. As I go through my training, I wanted to share my thoughts and insights along the way.

Last week we began learning about anatomy.  Although it sounds boring and tedious, I found it fascinating. Our book, The Key Poses of Hatha Yoga, shows pictures of the human body performing various yoga poses.

It reminds me of the plasticized bodies seen in an exhibit like Body Worlds, which is at the Denver Museum of Natural History this summer. My sister, Lavender Luz (aka Lori), wrote a post about attending a Body Worlds exhibit. You can check it out here for some cool pictures of plasticized bodies in motion.

Not only does the book show the bodies in various yoga poses, but the muscles are color coordinated to show which ones are stretching and which are contracting. Studying the pictures has helped bring more understanding and depth, both on and off the mat.

Each week during our Yoga Teacher Training, we will have a test to make sure we are grasping the key concepts. As I studied for this week's test, my husband was teasing me because he thought I was studying so I could ace the test.

I want to do well on the test, but my true motivation was that I was enjoying learning about the concepts, studying the diagrams and delving deeper into my own yoga practice.

I KNOW I never felt this interested in courses I had to take in school like statistics, economics or composition. Although some of the concepts in the courses were fascinating, it didn't seem as immediately applicable as what I am learning in my Yoga Teacher Training.

In fact, reading and learning about yoga doesn't feel like studying, but more like exploring.

Today I am grateful for the opportunity to learn more about something I am truly interested in with the hopes of some day teaching and sharing with others what I have learned.

Namaste!

Intuitive Tuesday -- Summer Solstice Tarot Spread

Every Tuesday I select one card and give you my interpretation of it. See how it applies to your life and ask, "What messages are here for you?"

Since yesterday marked the Summer Solstice, I thought it might be interesting to show you a great tarot spread called, "Bodran's Summer Solstice Tarot Spread."  I've provided a copy of the spread here, but you can check out this link for more information.

I used this tarot spread with my Intuition Through Tarot class last week in preparation for the Summer Solstice and they all loved it.

Here are the directions on how to use this spread:

Pull "The Sun" from the deck and place it face up in the center.
  1. During the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year, more light is available to us. What in my life has been in shadow that I need to shine a bright light on so I can see it clearly for what it is?
  2. The word "solstice" comes from the Latin "sol" (meaning sun) and "sistere" (meaning to cause to stand still). What in my life am I trying to force into happening when instead I need to be still and patient?
  3. The Summer Solstice is often called "Midsummer" because it is roughly in the middle of the growing season. What in my life is fertile and productive now? Where are my opportunities for growth?
  4. After Summer Solstice, the days gradually become shorter, and the sun's strength wanes as winter approaches. What is waning in my life? What do I need to release?
Provided below are the cards I pulled  for myself and the groups interpretation of it. It was fascinating, inspiring...and felt right on.  Here's what I got:
  1. The Moon -- What do I need to shine a light on to see it more clearly? My intuition and the intuitive work that I do.
  2. The Star -- Be patient as your intuitive gifts continue to unfold. New gifts are yours when you are ready to receive.
  3. Six of Wands (reversed) -- Give up earthly forms of success and concentrate on your spiritual work. Release competitiveness.
  4. King of Coins/Pentacles (reversed) -- Let go. Do and be what you have been called to do. Flow. Stand firm in what you know.
If you have a deck of tarot cards, shuffle and ask the question, "Tell me what I need to know about the energy surrounding the Summer Solstice" and see what comes up for you.

As for me, it could make for an interesting summer (and beyond)!!!

Perfect Moment Monday -- Happy Father's Day Bike Ride

Each week I participate in Perfect Moment Monday, sponsored by the blog, WeeblesWobblog.com. According to Weebles, "Perfect Moment Monday is about noticing a perfect moment rather than creating one. Perfect Moments can be momentous or ordinary or somewhere in between." And so, here is a Perfect Moment for this week.

When I asked my DH, Tom, how he would like to spend Father's Day weekend, he said he'd like to go biking on some of the county and BLM (Bureau of Land Management) trails just south of where we live.

When I got home from yoga practice (a killer class, by the way), he already had our bikes loaded on the car. We went to the trail head and set off for a great bike ride on a really beautiful trail -- along the train tracks and beside the Gunnison River.

We stopped along the way to take a couple of pictures and just take in the beauty.

After we finished, we got some delicious Mexican food. Why does food taste SO much better after you've worked out?

The "frosting" on the cake (for Tom) was stopping by one of our large hardware stores on the way home to get some "stuff," which is how he answers me when I say, "What are we going to the hardware store for?"

"STUFF"

Then he spent the rest of the afternoon tinkering around the yard and the house installing, planting and painting with all of his new "stuff."

A relaxing barbecue dinner and a movie topped of the day.

It was...Perfect!

Can You Help with this Lost Child?

I recently received a notice from my cousin about a missing child, Kyron Horman, who used to go to school with my cousin's son.

Apparently he was last seen at a science fair a little over two weeks ago.

I can't even imagine having to face something like this and I wanted to contribute and use the power of the Internet to spread the word.

Keep an eye out, especially those of you in the Pacific Northwest area. The tip-line is (503) 261-2847.

And, if you have any way to get this information out to your network, please do so. The more people we have involved, the better.

Thank you!

Focus on Strength , Compassion and Peace

Note:  You may have noticed that I did not post an Intuitive Tuesday on Thursday post this week.

When summer began, I saw a decrease in readers and in comments, which probably means that with the warmer weather, each of us is spending less time near the computer and more time outside. Yeah!

Instead of posting an Intuitive Tuesday on Thursday post each week, check back for insights, thoughts, comments and quotes throughout the week.

Since I started my Yoga Teacher training this week, don't be surprised if I share some of my thoughts and perspectives on that as well.

Be sure to check back on Tuesdays for Intuitive Tuesday. I encourage you to share your thoughts and insights with me and the other readers.

And so...here are my thoughts for today:

In reading the comments from the Intuitive Tuesday post earlier this week, it sounds like many of us have been touched by the Ten of Swords energy -- either in its upright position (feeling as though you have been stabbed in the back, defeated, pain, etc.) or in its reversed position (the pain is behind you and now you can move forward).

It's tough to know how to respond to someone who has lost someone dear to her or to someone who is experiencing the feelings of frustration and helplessness in struggling with infertility, or feelings of defeat in a business situation, and the pain and grief of divorce and its aftermath. Just reading your comments, I began to tap into the pain you may be feeling.

And then I remembered that ours is just a small (as in number, not magnitude) sample of what other struggles are happening all around us, with people we love or possibly just come in contact with (like the bank teller or grocery clerk). We may not know what battles they face, but we know that we each walk our own path, facing whatever obstacles may appear.

So today, focus on compassion for yourself and for others as we all continue to walk our paths through life.

Call upon the energy of the Strength card to help you tap into your reservoir of power, love, energy and forgiveness.  Even if you wonder how much strength you have left, know that it is there and have the faith that you can find it.

You've heard that there is strength in numbers. Let's use our blog community to connect our energies and help each of us have the courage to move forward with strength and compassion...to find peace.

I found this quote by King Solomon:
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”
Just think of the power and strength we have when we pull our energies together...

Namaste!

Intuitive Tuesday -- Ten of Swords (Reversed) - Divine Tarot

Every Tuesday I select one card and give you my interpretation of it. See how it applies to your life. What messages are here for you?

Today’s card -- the Ten of Swords Reversed -- comes from the Legacy of the Divine Tarot by Ciro Marchetti.

The Ten of Swords (reversed) indicates that the worst is over and you are ending one cycle to begin another. Thank Goodness!

Whenever I pull the Ten of Swords (especially in the upright position), I know that things have been tough. The reversed position brings some relief because the pain is behind you and now you can move forward.

In Marchetti's book, "Gateway to the Divine Tarot," he gives keywords for this card including, "Overthrow of evil forces, time to rebuild, recovery, inner strength."

If you'd like more information on the Ten of Swords (reversed), click here.

Because I pulled this card recently, I wanted to pull an additional card from the Messages of Life deck by Mario Duguay. These cards are so beautiful and have deep, meaningful messages accompanying the artwork. You can click here to check it out or go to your local (metaphysical) bookstore.

Today's card is Strength...a perfect card to go with the energy of the Ten of Swords -- either upright or reversed.

Here is what the Strength card says:
"I do not let my emotions control me; I keep my thoughts pure and do not yield my power to anyone or anything.
I rise above self doubt. I gain confidence in myself through my own power and my unshakable faith that I ahve the strength to overcome anything.
I find courage in truth, and to overcome my fears, I resort to the most powerful weapon: love."
Reading this card reminded me of my yoga practice this morning. As we were holding a challenging pose for what seemed like forever :), the teacher said, "When you think you need to come out of the pose is when true growth begins."

Just when I wanted to give up, I called on my inner strength and found a way to breathe through my thoughts of giving up; I pulled out my most powerful weapon (love), and gracefully flowed into the next pose.

If you have or are facing a Ten of Swords situation (feeling as though you have been stabbed in the back, defeated, pain, etc.), the message today is to call on your inner strength, love...and move forward.

Remember that growth begins the second you move through what you thought was impossible.

Use the affirmation on today's card to help you find your strength...grow forward...and leave the Ten of Swords energy behind.

You are FREE!

Perfect Moment Monday -- Father Ties

Each week I participate in Perfect Moment Monday, sponsored by the blog, WeeblesWobblog.com. According to Weebles, "Perfect Moment Monday is about noticing a perfect moment rather than creating one. Perfect Moments can be momentous or ordinary or somewhere in between." And so, here is a Perfect Moment for this week.

The boys just finished the school year and yes, there were lots of tears because of how sad they were that school is out for the summer (please read with a very sarcastic tone!)

On James' last day of middle school, the 8th graders had a "Bon Voyage" dance. James, of course, had been preparing for weeks to have just the right outfit ready to go.

That morning, he asked my DH to help him tie his tie. As I watched DH interact with James, I realized that it was only a year ago that he had adopted the boys.

I am constantly amazed at how much my DH cares for the boys -- loving them, playing with them, teaching them, and helping them become wonderful young men. DH is a great, loving role model. I could not have asked for more.

As I stepped back to watch, I realized the perfect moment that was unfolding before my eyes. I felt grateful for my DH and for how wonderfully my sons are growing up.

It was indeed Perfect!

Intuitive Tuesday on Thursday -- Three of Cups & Eight of Pentacles

On Intuitive Tuesdays I select a card and give you my interpretation of it. On Thursday I select one reader's comment and pull an additional card.

I encourage you to read about the additional card I pulled this week and see how it applies to your life. Anything that is brought to one of us is a message for all of us.

This week's Intuitive Tuesday card was The Six of Pentacles (reversed) which is about being aware of what's going on with your money...and having free will.

Today's follow-up cards come from the Gilded Tarot by Ciro Marchetti and Barbara Moore. They are in response to Kim whose comment was:
Another very appropriate card!
Last week I completed with a client that ended a bit... challengingly. The client has yet to pay for the last month's fee and I have a hunch I'm not going to see it. Last night I was contemplating how I would handle that if it happens.
Yesterday, I also had a client have to suddenly stop coaching due to a temporary financial set back - however she is intending to continue in a few months. Looking forward to Thursday's followup :)
I shuffled the cards and said, "Tell me what I need to know about Kim's business." I pulled the Three of Cups, which has to do with bringing people together for fun and celebration. For more information on the Three of Cups, click here and here.

It is a very positive card and my impression was that everything was coming together for you, your business and your clients.

Remember too that threes are cards of creation, growth and expansion...which leads me to believe that something may be coming together or changing in your business.

I confirmed this by pulling a second card, the Eight of Pentacles, which is known as the "work" card. For more information on this card, click here and here.

In combining the energy of the Three of Cups and the Eight of Pentacles in regards to your comments, I wonder if perhaps you will be faced with the possibility of creating or enhancing part of your business that has to do with groups of people. These events would be fun, would build community and may promote healing and education.

If you've been contemplating something like this, these two cards would indicate it is time to move forward. If you haven't explored this yet, don't be surprised if an opportunity presents itself.

Either way, it may be a good time to do some brainstorming as to how you can change the focus of your business to be more group-oriented, which also takes some of the pressure off of you when you have a difficult client session, or when someone postpones their appointments, etc.

On a personal note...
After selecting Tuesday's Six of Pentacles (reversed), we were eating at a restaurant that evening and our credit card was denied. A call to the credit card company, pushing several buttons for the automated attendant, and answering some key questions and the card was re-activated. I was glad to know that they were diligent about making sure my card had not been stolen, and I smiled knowing that this was the Six of Pentacles energy at work.

As for today's cards -- the Three of Cups and the Eight of Pentacles -- I am being asked to shift my business to reach more people at once. This doesn't meant I'll give up my one-on-one appointments, but possibly that I'll expand my audience by promoting my newspaper column to an even bigger publication, or host workshops and enhance my group coaching and my intuition classes. These two cards feel like a direct message for me.
What is the message for you today considering the Three of Cups and the Eight of Pentacles?

Intuitive Tuesday -- Six of Coins (Reversed)

Every Tuesday I select one card and give you my interpretation of it. See how it applies to your life. What messages are here for you?

Each Thursday I choose one reader's comment from Intuitive Tuesday and pull an additional card for more clarity...so check back on Thursday to see what cards come up.

Today’s card -- the Six of Coins (Pentacles) Reversed -- comes from the Legacy of the Divine Tarot by Ciro Marchetti.

In its upright position, it is a card of charity and giving. The idea is that you have enough prosperity and flow to share with others.

When it is reversed, however, the Six of Coins can act as a warning. There may be jealousy, miserliness or possibly some strings attached that may not have been fully exposed.

In Anthony Louis' book, Tarot: Plain and Simple, Louis says the Six of Coins (Pentacles) reversed, "often suggests a loss of money or property due to carelessness, dishonesty, or lack of prudence. Someone may refuse to pay a debt or return a favor, or a loan may come due, leaving you financially strapped."

Although this may not be the BEST news in the world, when I pull cards that I'm not thrilled about, I realize that it's better to be aware (but not paranoid) as to what *might* be coming my way.

This is a great time to mention (as I do to all of my clients), that I don't use tarot cards as a way to tell the future, but more as a way to tap into what's happening right now, what the emotions are surrounding a situation, and to gain greater insights into how to best handle various situations in life.

Knowing that there is ALWAYS free will...I know that no matter what comes my way, I can handle it.

With the Six of Coins (Pentacles) reversed, remember that Pentacles have to do with money. With that in mind, be cognizant of what's going on with your money -- either money coming in (or expected to come in) and/or money going out (anything from debts you owe to donations you may be making).

Know that you and your views of money play an active role in your energy exchange with the universe.  Combine this knowledge with today's card -- the Six of Coins (Pentacles) reversed -- as a reminder to stay aware, and remember that you always have free will...so make the most of it.

Perfect Moment Monday -- Enjoy the Journey

Each week I participate in Perfect Moment Monday, sponsored by the blog, WeeblesWobblog.com. According to Weebles, "Perfect Moment Monday is about noticing a perfect moment rather than creating one. Perfect Moments can be momentous or ordinary or somewhere in between." And so, here is a Perfect Moment for this week.

My oldest son, James, is going on an 8th grade field trip to a beautiful tropical location. The group of 15 kids (and chaperones -- of which I am not one), will camp on the beach, snorkel, hike, cook, and probably learn a lot about themselves.

The other day, the teacher leading this expedition, I'll call him, "Mr. Brave," asked the students to come to one of the counselor's houses to practice using their snorkel gear in the swimming pool.

It happened to be really cold that day. I was shivering and I sitting on the side of the pool, with long pants and a jacket on, wrapped in a blanket.

James and the other kids got into the pool to try out their gear. Once they were in the water, I think they actually warmed up (a bit).  Mr. Brave gave them instructions on how to use the gear and then asked them to take a couple of laps.

They came to his end of the pool and raised their masks to receive further instructions (which they hoped would be to get out of the pool, dry off and warm up).

Instead Mr. Brave said, "In watching you swim your laps, there is one other thing I need to cover. When you are snorkeling, it isn't a power swim to the other side of the reef. Think of it as a journey. You are floating in the water, becoming part of the environment, enjoying the journey. It's not about getting from here to there, but more about what you see and experience along the way."

He then asked the kids to try again...and they floated away from him, easily looking around -- not kicking and splashing as they had done previously.

Sitting there, I heard his words and thought, "Wow! That's a lesson not only for snorkeling, but also for life."

When James hopped out of the water and asked me to wrap a towel around him and warm him up (even though he is a big strong 8th grader who doesn't need his Mommy), I still had the satisfaction of hugging my kiddo...and noticing another Perfect Moment!

Intuitive Tuesday on Thursday -- Queen of Cups Divine Tarot Again

On Intuitive Tuesdays I select a card and give you my interpretation of it. On Thursday I select one reader's comment and pull an additional card.

I encourage you to read about the additional card I pulled this week and see how it applies to your life. Anything that is brought to one of us is a message for all of us.

This week's Intuitive Tuesday cards were The Magician and The Three of Pentacles.  Both cards have to do with your work and talents and how you combine your gifts to fulfill your life purpose.

Today's follow-up card comes from the Legacy of the Divine Tarot. It is in response to Elizabeth whose comment was:
Hi -- I've followed you for a while but not commented much or ever before.
This combination of cards really spoke to me, but I still don't know exactly what they are saying. They came the morning that I found out I had not been selected for yet another project/contract. I have been struggling to sell my hours at work over the past six months or so, which is a very new problem for me. At first I felt that they were reinforcing all those signals: I need to really take stock of where I am work and find a way to fix it.

Then, as I thought about it more, I wondered about the struggle I have to balance between my work obligations and my home obligations. I feel like I am never succeeding at either one these days: not successful at work; and giving in too much to anger and impatience at home. I have a demanding job and I'm the only earner in our family, so we rely on my work; my husband is dying of Cystic Fibrosis and is very sick most of the time plus there is a lot to coordinate with his care -- multiple doctor visits a week, the home nurse, etc.; we have a 3 year old son; a 100 year old house; a big, needy dog.

I often wonder if I am in completely the wrong work; but I can't imagine accepting the risk and uncertainty of trying to change careers right now. Or I think, I need to find a way to work part-time for a while, so I can better support my husband and be there for him, but, he is so withdrawn, and I don't like the idea of taking the financial hit, or know if we could afford it, or what it would do to my career in the long run. I do need to try to take stock of all my talents and apply them to help be there for my husband and child and make my work situation better -- but I don't really know how to start.

Thank you for this weekly opportunity to reflect. With love,

Elizabeth
Elizabeth, it sounds like you have a lot going on -- not only in the situations around you (your husband, his illness, your child, your home, etc.), but also on your own personal journey. I have a hunch that what used to seem like "real life" to you, seems like a distant memory and you wonder, "What happened?" Your days are filled with giving...to your work, your husband, your child...and there may not be a lot left over to nurture YOU!

When I shuffled the cards and focused on your comments, I selected the Queen of Cups, which I have featured in earlier posts. Click here to read more about the Queen of Cups.

In my previous post, I talked about how intuitive the Queen of Cups is...and I believe this is an important part of why it has come up for you. There is something that you have been subconsciously pondering for a while...it has to do with your bigger purpose. Maybe this is why you wonder about finding the "right" work for you.

Does your current work have to do with something logical, measurable, tangible? For some reason it feels that you are good at it, but that possibly your creativity feels stifled.

The Queen of Cups also symbolizes your nurturing, loving side that LOVES to care for others....but, remember that this side can become overused and possibly overwhelmed.

Pulling the Queen of Cups for you today may symbolize several things:
  • It's time to take care of YOU. I recently wrote an article on taking the time and energy to nurture yourself called, "Keeping Your Pitcher Full." In it I used the metaphor of your energy being like a pitcher of water. Each time you give to someone else, you pour water out of your pitcher. When you nurture yourself, you add water back in. The problem comes when you are pouring out more than you are taking in. If you'd like to read the entire article, click here.
The Queen of Cups may indicate to take some time for YOU...to nurture your soul, ponder these larger questions, etc.
  • The Queen of Cups is about nurturing others. In your comment you talked about being home and helping your husband more, but that you feel unsure about taking a pay cut. You feel pulled between your work and being with your family. Remember that going to work and financially supporting your family is also nurturing your family. So even if you aren't tending to their needs directly, it's you and your income that supports the system and makes sure they are cared for.
  • Third, the Queen of Cups is either about an intuitive woman in your life that can offer assistance...and/or about tapping into your intuition to find your answers. Perhaps you've been SO busy taking care of everything that you haven't had the time to tune in and hear what's true for you. Now is the time to tune in and the Queen of Cups is a reminder to do so.
Maybe one of the best ways to nurture yourself is to take some time to ponder where you are in your life right now -- everything from the day-to-day details, all the way to the big picture (where are you on your life path).

The message for today's card is to nurture yourself and listen to the Queen of Cups inside you...because she has some important messages...if you stop long enough to hear.

Intuitive Tuesday -- The Magician

Every Tuesday I select one card and give you my interpretation of it. See how it applies to your life. What messages are here for you?

Each Thursday I choose one reader's comment from Intuitive Tuesday and pull an additional card for more clarity...so check back on Thursday to see what cards come up.

Today’s cards come from the Legacy of the Divine Tarot by Ciro Marchetti. After I pulled the first one, The Magician, I realized that I have selected this card previously. It is a card about focusing your energy and talents to manifest what you want in your life. To read more about this card, click here.

Since I have already selected The Magician, I decided to pull another card, the Three of Coins (Pentacles)...which I have also selected before. This is a card of using your talents, employment, craftsmanship, and expertise to find success.  If you'd like more information about the Three of Pentacles, click here.

Instead of selecting yet another card, I decided to look at these two cards to see what they mean in conjunction with each other.

You've probably already noticed that they both have to do with talents and skills you possess. The Magician is a Major Arcana card, which typically symbolizes a larger life lesson.

The Three of Pentacles is a Minor Arcana card, which indicates a day-to-day situation. That the two cards  came up together, indicates to me that there is a situation that is happening for you right now -- possibly in your work arena -- that is BOTH day-to-day and also has a deeper, more spiritual meaning.

The message of the combined cards is to recognize and tap into your full range of talents, gifts, skills, and specialized knowledge to more fully apply yourself and fulfill your purpose.

Perhaps it's not only time to take an inventory of these things, but also to see how you can combine them in ways you've not previously thought of or done in a consistent manner.

For example, if you love to journal and write, but keep it private, perhaps now may be the time to share these talents with others. What if you were to write or complete the book you've thought about but never done? What if you were to start a blog and write for others to see?

A personal example...
I am looking to more formally combine my talents of being intuitive, reading tarot cards, life coaching, being a PSYCH-K practitioner, and using my energetic healing skills to work with clients not only from one of these areas, but from a combination of these gifts.

My sessions with clients would then be a combination of what is most helpful to them at the time and what gifts I have to offer.
I may have a client who comes in for our first session and we read cards to get an idea of what is emotionally going on for her right now and create Action Steps like I do regularly with my life coaching clients. In our next sessions, we may identify beliefs that are keeping her stuck and balance for those beliefs using PSYCH-K.  I could then write an article about what I've learned to help my column readers make these shifts in their own lives.

Through the combined Magician and Three of Pentacles energy, what I have been promoting as separate services, now weave together to bring healing energy to the person and the situation -- no matter what earthly form it takes.
I know some of you who know me may be saying, "DUH! That's what I've been trying to tell you all along." But pulling these two cards really spoke to me. I GET IT!
Does the concept of The Magician and the Three of Pentacles make sense to you?

How can YOU combine talents that perhaps you've seen as separate into a new and more efficient form to better express who you are and what your purpose is here on earth?

Do the old brainstorming exercise of combining two things that are NOT alike, into something new and different. And remember in brainstorming, there are no bad ideas.

So go for it. Combine away. Be creative. And see what the universe brings your way. It's not only YOU that will be impacted, but every person you come in contact with.

What magic does The Magician and the Three of Pentacles hold in store for you today?
