Perfect Moment Monday -- A Birthday FULL of Perfect Moments!

Me blowing out the birthday candles during my
surprise birthday party at the yoga studio.
I have the BEST people in my life!
Each week I participate in Perfect Moment Monday, sponsored by the blog, WriteMindOpenHeart.com According to Lavender Luz, "Perfect Moment Monday" is about noticing a perfect moment rather than creating one. Perfect Moments can be momentous or ordinary or somewhere in between." And so, here is a Perfect Moment for this week.

I celebrated a birthday this past week and realized that Perfect Moments can connect and last ALL day long!

On my special day, I woke up thinking that I would enjoy the morning yoga class, but soon found out that the yoga instructor that morning had a work conflict and would not be able to be to the studio on time. Instead of taking yoga, I would be teaching it.

Know that I LOVE to teach yoga, but on my birthday, I wanted the luxury of being in my own space, practicing yoga.

Literally five minutes before class was to begin, the yoga instructor I was subbing for walked in the door and said she got back early and could still teach. Hallelujah!

During Final Savasana, I tears came to my eyes as I realized how very blessed I am and feeling grateful for my health, my family, my friends, etc. Another Perfect Moment indeed!

I left the class on this emotional high to find a group of my friends gathering at the studio to wish me a Happy Birthday! My dear friends, Loralie and Tess, had invited my friends, brought the coffee, delicious coffee cake, cards, presents, a balloon, etc. and surprised me. WOW! I was very touched. More Perfect Moments!

I had two great appointments that afternoon and then got to enjoy a wonderful stretching class called Deep Openings with my hubby.  And our three sons helped each other (yes, you read that correctly -- our teenage sons worked together), so that Tom and I could go out to dinner to celebrate. Several more Perfect Moments!

Throughout the day I received several really nice phone calls and voice messages, and my Facebook was full of wonderful birthday greetings. My sister left this one that was SO very touching:
On this day, G*d gave one if his greatest gifts to the earth. Sheri, you are a gifted healer, an amazing yogi, a thoughtful friend, a dedicated wife, an ever-present mother, and a sister who has been my dearest companion on this journey of life. I'm grateful every day that you are in my life. Today just gives me reason to shout it from the mountaintops. Happy Birthday!
As I laid in bed that night, I was still smiling. I have so many great people in my life. I am very blessed.

One word: Perfect!

That's some sister you have there!

You have taught me for years about gratitude and about noticing the gifts that are right in front of us. You are one of mine, and I'm so glad that I've gotten to travel through life with you from Day 1 (yours).

is it possible that two such extraordinary women come from the same extraordinary woman?
Are you and Lori sisters?

Tracy, I make the trifecta of women who all have the same amazing mother, whose tribute can be found here: http://bit.ly/mmhoGZ.

Sheri, is it any wonder to you that You are surrounded by people who like to make you feel special? You have dedicated a lifetime toward being honest, kind, and true, and helping others realize these gifts in themselves. Having that all be given back to you in one day is just the universe's way of reminding you it is (we are) here all of the time.

You sow what you reap. And what you reap is worthy of perfect moments like these.

Keep on your path, Sheri. The world is a better place because of you. I am a better place because of you.

Happy birthday, dear sister! (And a very merry unbirthday to my other sister, Lavender Luz. I am the luckiest woman in the world to have had you in my life, my entire life. Love you BOTH!)

Happy (belated) Birthday! I am sorry that I am late to the party. I also did not realize that you and Lori were sisters! How lucky for both of you (and Tami too).

What an incredible birthday you had. Thank you for sharing. I was smiling the whole way through reading about your truly perfect day!
