Perfect Moment Monday -- Too Cool!

Each week I participate in Perfect Moment Monday, sponsored by the blog, WeeblesWobblog.com. According to Weebles, "Perfect Moment Monday is about noticing a perfect moment rather than creating one. Perfect Moments can be momentous or ordinary or somewhere in between." And so, here is a Perfect Moment for this week.

Last week all three of my boys had their Spring Pops Concert. I'm amazed at how talented the middle school bands are, considering most of the kids only started playing in 6th grade. It helps too that they adore their band director (who is excellent, by the way).

Before the concert, I noticed a Perfect Moment when I saw all three of my kids (and one of their friends) all dressed up. Lucky for me, I even got them to stop long enough to take pictures.

I had several more Perfect Moments during the band concert as I sat next to my hubby and listened to the bands play. The boys' grandparents from Chicago and their Grandpa and his girlfriend who live in town were there and were equally as proud...so proud that we went out for ice cream after the concert...YUM (another perfect moment).

And who says band isn't cool?

Gaining Insights from Face-Reading

My friend, Laura Rose, is a face-reader. When I first heard this, I thought she could look at your expressions and tell you what you were thinking, feeling, etc.

But it's not the facial expressions she is analyzing; it is your bone structure, how your features (eyes, ears, nose, cheekbones, etc.) sit in relation to one another. And the information she can tell you about you and your personality are amazing! I know because I had her do a complete face-reading session for me and have witnessed her doing it for several other people. And every time she's done it, she is RIGHT ON!

In my last post, Intuitive Tuesday on Thursday -- Eight of Wands Reversed, I introduced the concept of the Assurance Comfort Level (ACL), which is how much assurance people need before making a decision and moving forward. As I explained in the post, my ACL tends to be high (90-100%), in comparison to my hubby's who (through his Army training -- and his personality) tends to be lower (70% or so). After reading the post, Laura emailed some comments to me.  She used her face-reading knowledge to analyze my facial traits to show how they reinforce why my ACL tends to be high. I thought it was so interesting that I wanted to share it with you.

Laura suggested that I include a picture of me with this post so you can see some of the traits she is talking about...(say Cheese!!!)

Here is the email she sent to me:
"I like your ACL scale!  It'd be interesting to take a poll of your followers/readers to see what their self-assessment is.
    
And, of course, my immediate focus is on the physiology and what particular traits (characteristics) make up the percentage.      
For example, your high cheekbones tell us that you like variety and adventure, so going for the gusto is part of your personal formula.      
But....and this is a big but....your close set eyes drive you to perfectionism and achievement, and because the part of the brain involved is emotional, this carries more weight than your need for adventure.      
Your forehead tells us that you like things to evolve in a sequence...no jumping to the end result for you!  You will want the assurance that comes from a step-by-step process - a journey, so to speak.
    
 Your long narrow face indicates a cautious nature - one that is not willing to jump in without some assurances of positive results.
    
 So just taking these few elements into consideration, it is easy to see why your ACL is a high percentage.
    
 And that you also had better have an outlet for those cheekbones! 
That when you tap into your Intuition and spiritual nature, you completely over-ride your physiology (traits), your programmed responses, and any other conditioning from the 3rd dimension.
    
No wonder you love being an Intuitive Teacher and Consultant!
    
Your ACL scale is brilliant!"
A couple of years ago, Laura did a couple of face-reading sessions for me, complete with measurements of things like how far apart my eyes are, how far my ears sit back on my head, the height of my forehead, etc. Her analysis was fascinating and right on!

Laura has an extensive background in face-reading and has helped employers use face-reading when hiring people. She has assisted lawyers in selecting jurors, has taught classes on how to use face-reading, and I know that she uses it with every person she meets.

Intuitive Tuesday on Thursday -- Eight of Wands (Reversed)

On Intuitive Tuesdays I select a card and give you my interpretation of it. On Thursday I select one reader's comment and pull an additional card.

This week's Intuitive Tuesday card was the Seven of Cups, a card of the dreamy, possibly scattered feelings you get when you are faced with many appealing choices.

Today's follow-up card comes from the Legacy of the Divine Tarot. It is in response to Kim Dushinski  whose comment was:
Such an interesting card for you to pull today. 
This card is exactly ME right now. I have recently come up with a new strategy for my business that is simultaneously exciting and scary. As excited as I am about it I am stuck in moving forward on it because it has so many facets and moving parts.
The Eight of Wands in its upright position indicates things moving VERY quickly -- lots of movement, all systems are go, no delays, forward motion and full steam ahead.

Intuitively I feel that you are being presented with an opportunity that is slightly different from what you had originally envisioned, but as you look at it, the idea also makes sense. It may push you into a territory where you may question if you are willing to do what needs to be done. Have you ever seen yourself in this light? Could this really be what you are supposed to do...and yet it seems to make sense and there is a part of you that is SO curious and ready to explore.

And then there's the in-between time, the time between now (what is) and then (what could be) and you feel it's your job to build the bridge. Yes. Another bridge. Another thing for you to organize, plan, strategize and map out. But isn't that what you are good at?

Yes, but you also like weaving connections through the bridge and enjoying walking over the bridge after it is built. You've had a taste of that too and like it.

The Eight of Wands (reversed) can indicate anything from further delays to things feeling really chaotic. If you are feeling overwhelmed, be sure not to get caught up in the energy of being busy so much that you waste precious time or delay decisions.

It's not time to force things -- and I think you can feel when things are being forced -- but it's also not a time to dilly-dally. If you start to get stuck in the Eight of Wands Reversed energy (feeling delays or squandering energy), go with your gut, pick the path that feels best and move forward.

My husband and I are different when making decisions. I look for a 90-100% assurance as to what will happen and how it will turn out. His Army training has taught him to go with about 70% assurance and then figure it out along the way. Where I can get stuck in researching and trying to "get it right," he's already moving forward and using his contingency planning skills to get things done. Two different styles, each with pros and cons.

Let's call this the Assurance Comfort Level (ACL). What is your ACL? If your number is like my hubby's (70% assurance), then you've probably already started to move ahead.

If your number is closer to mine (90-100%), you may be stuck in indecision because you are overwhelmed with possibilities and may be trying really hard to do it "right."

The Eight of Wands reversed may be a sign that it's time to lower your ACL slightly and depend on your experience, instincts, gut feel, and cat-like reflexes :) to overcome the Eight of Wands Reversed energy and move ahead. What could go wrong...and could/would you handle it if it did?

Intuitive Tuesday - Seven of Cups

Today’s card comes from the Legacy of the Divine Tarot by Ciro Marchetti. It is the Seven of Cups, a card that indicates many choices, lack of focus and possibly confusion.

In the book that accompanies this deck, Marchetti explains:
"We are presented with what seems to be an ideal scenario. We are spoiled for choice. Seven cups manifest themselves, each offering different but enticing contents. They all seem appealing, but we can't simply take them all, and therein lies the dilemma."
Remember that Cups deal with emotions, and perhaps some of the confusion stems from the fact that we are allowing our emotional feelings (which can be a result of our thoughts, beliefs, and experiences) to override our intuitive feelings (intuition, gut feel, inner voice, etc.).

The Seven of Cups energy can feel all encompassing and sometimes overwhelming because there are so many great options.

I did a tarot reading for a client last week and before I laid out the cards, she said she was feeling confused and stuck. Her first two cards were the Two of Swords crossed by the Seven of Cups. If I were to hand-select two cards to exemplify her description of indecision and feeling stuck, these would be the exact cards I would pick. When these were the first two cards in the spread, I knew that the reading would have some good information for her...and it did.

If you are feeling the Seven of Cups energy, you may feel as though you are floating, find yourself daydreaming, or feel as though your energy is scattered. It may not be a "bad" or "uncomfortable" feeling in the short run, but if it starts to impact how you approach your life or make decisions in a timely manner, this is when this energy can become tiring.

One of the best ways to move through the Seven of Cups is to "ground your energy." If you are unfamiliar with that term, think about the feeling of having your life under control; things are going according to plan or if they are not, you are comfortable "going with the flow." That is when you feel "grounded."

In terms of your chakras (energy centers), feeling grounded is associated with your root chakra. For more information on the chakra system, you can check out a series of posts on my sister, Lori's blog (Weebles Wobblog) by clicking here.

Here's an easy way to get grounded:
  • Walk outside with bare feet (if possible) and let your feet feel the earth. 
  • Take ten deep breaths with eyes open or closed. 
  • Imagine the air coming into your body, filling your body (from head to toe and then imagine the energy going through your feet into the earth). 
  • Feel your muscles relax with each exhale. 
  • After ten deep breaths, notice how your body feels. Are you more relaxed? Do you feel more connected to earth, your Source, your intuitive voice? 
  • Repeat as necessary.
Take a few moments to ground your energy. Even if you are unable to go outside, take ten deep breaths (no matter where you are) and ground your energy now. It can take less than two minutes and will make all of the difference in the world.

Perfect Moment Monday -- Take Me Out to the Ballgame!

My son, Bryce, is playing Little League baseball this season and was recently invited to play with a competitive team on the Front Range a couple of weeks ago.

My hubby and I were unable to attend because Bryce's twin, Ryan, was playing in his first lacrosse tournament in another city three hours away from Bryce's event.

As I watched Ryan's lacrosse tournament, I received texts and photos from my sister and brother-in-law, who had traveled (with their cute son, my nephew) to watch Bryce play.

It was Mother's Day weekend and I felt so much pride, gratitude and love...watching and cheering for Ryan playing lacrosse (with me sitting in between my oldest son, James, and my hubby, Tom),  keeping up with Bryce's baseball accomplishments via text, and knowing that my sister and her family took time out of their busy lives to go support Bryce (and cheer for him since my hubby and I were unable to go).

That I also received flowers from my sweet, thoughtful husband before watching Ryan's team win the lacrosse tournament on Sunday was frosting on the cake.

In fact, it was Perfect!

Intuitive Tuesday on Thursday -- Eight of Pentacles & "I Am Free"

This week's Intuitive Tuesday card was the Three of Cups, a card of celebration, overflowing emotions, family and fun. In addition, the second card was Simplicity, a good reminder for this busy time of year.

Today's follow-up cards are for Andrea Rose Jones whose comment was:
Hi Sheri, so glad you drew the second card. Just spent the weekend at the Lake where I was feeling so blissed out and unburdened. Woke up this morning just wanting to go back to that space and NOT to the details of life! What a great reminder to let life be and stay tuned to the part of me that enjoys the spring, no matter what I am doing, and to prioritize the details.
It may be no surprise that in response to your comment I selected the Eight of Pentacles, which is also known as the "work card."

Remember that this card can also indicate stability and satisfaction in your work and suggests that work will be fulfilling and enjoyable. So don't be surprised if as you jump back into "real life" that you experience a shift in your perception of what you do and how you do it. Look for your work to take a welcome shift forward as you dive in.

Today’s card comes from the Gilded Tarot by Ciro Marchetti and Barbara Moore. It is a card of overflowing emotions, celebrations with family and friends, and a time to rejoice and have fun.

The Three of Cups is a perfect card for this time of year. Spring is a time of celebrations to mark beginnings and endings including both graduation and weddings (among many others).

It's not surprising that it came up today to remind us to step into this exciting and fun energy and realize how important it is to get together with family and friends and celebrate important times in our lives.

Today's card is Simplicity...which I also thought was fitting for today. As we move into this time of celebrations, it's easy to get caught up in what must be done to prepare for a successful event...that we can lose sight of the fact that it is supposed to be fun!

Perfect Moment Monday -- Summer Toes

This weekend I got to spoil myself with a pedicure. What a GREAT way to kick-off the summer!

What made it even better was that it was a birthday gift from my dear friend, Loralie.

Not only was the hot soak and vibrating/massaging chair absolutely perfect, but relaxing and talking to Loralie was a treat! Normally she and I are working out or doing yoga, sweating and pushing our bodies to the limits with weights, cardio and tough yoga poses.

But that day, we got to just sit and relax...and, of course, enjoy the benefit of beautiful toes! I LOVE it when my toenails are perfectly painted.

The peak of the Perfect Moment was after we left the salon and sat on the curb taking the photo above. We were giggling about how silly we were being with the camera and grateful that no one saw us doing it (at least not that we know).

It was...absolutely perfect!

Intuitive Tuesday on Thursday -- The Sun (Reversed)

This week's Intuitive Tuesday card was The High Priestess, which symbolizes our intuitive, inner voice of inspiration and guidance. 

Today’s follow-up card is The Sun Reversed, which is a card of delayed success, opportunity and fulfillment. This card was pulled for Furrow whose comment was:
The funny thing is, I do believe that my intuition is pretty strong, and I'll follow it when I don't have to involve others, but I do hesitate to try to sway the plans of others with my intuition. I'm just not confident enough, usually. Speaking of others, what do you do when your intuition is telling you the exact opposite of what someone else's intuition is telling him/her? And what if circumstances require that you work together? 
Furrow, you get a BONUS because you get intuitive feedback from my Intuition Through Tarot group, otherwise known as the "Tarot Tarts"  -- four very intuitive women (plus me).

We have been meeting each month for over two years. It started as a class on how to use tarot cards and has now turned into a group coaching circle which uses tarot cards as a tool to tap into each person's High Priestess (intuitive voice).  We meet every month to connect with each other, do readings and learn about different aspects of tarot. This week I had the Tarot Tarts help me with today's Intuitive Tuesday on Thursday. After reading through all of the comments, the group felt drawn to yours and pulled an additional card for you!

The card we pulled was The Sun (reversed). Because The Sun is such a positive card of success, fulfillment and opportunity, even in its reversed position, it is still very positive...even if a bit delayed or blocked.

The Tarot Tarts focused on your question about what to do when you feel you need to work with someone but their intuition is telling them the exact opposite of yours. Lydia (Tarot Tart) named it "Intuition Opposition."

The comments from the group centered around you possibly facing some situations where you feel your life force is blocked and/or you may be doubting yourself and may be hesitating stepping into your own power.

Perhaps tuning into and trusting your inner voice may not be something you have done your entire life and so it takes some getting used to -- for both you and the people around you.

Possibly before you would ask for and base your decision on others' opinions. But as your intuition grew stronger, you would ask others, not in an effort to hear their thoughts, but more to "feel" what resonated with you. I call this "Intuitive Sonar" -- which is where you describe a situation to someone else as though using a pinging sound to see what comes back to you that rings true.

"Intuition Opposition" stimulated a great discussion and the Tarot Tarts had some interesting feedback based on The Sun (reversed). First, what you may see as black and white (the other person's opinion vs your own), may need to be brought into the light of the sun to see all of the various shades that exist. That is, your seemingly opposite intuitive hits may not be "right" or "wrong," but simply different.

This brings up the idea to look at your "answer" from multiple sides, shifting your perspective and possibly being creative with solutions.

Maybe it's time to step back to see if you are asking the right questions. When asking the question, either broaden the view or narrow it and see what answers come up then.

For example, what if I got an intuitive hit to take a trip with my friend, Suzi, and go to Ireland. She also gets an intuitive hit to take the trip with me, but thinks England is the destination of choice.  Our intuition may be "right" about taking a trip together (intuitively the same), but the destination isn't as important (intuitively different). By stepping back, maybe the intuitive hit is about taking the trip...no matter what the destination may be. Make sense?

We pulled a second card, Justice (reversed), which can symbolize trying to gain peace at any price. In your quest to find common intuitive ground, are you trying (possibly too hard) to find a balance where it may not be necessary?

Maybe you need to stir the pot because your intuitive voice is screaming at you. As you grow even more familiar and confident with your intuition, things will become even clearer and you'll know when to compromise and when to stand your ground.

As you read through these comments, I get the feeling that you will know what your next step is, not only in relation to your situation now, but also how you will handle Intuition Opposition in the future.

Intuitive Tuesday -- The High Priestess

Today’s card comes from the Legacy of the Divine Tarot by Ciro Marchetti. It is The High Priestess. Whenever I pull the High Priestess I smile. It’s a reminder to me to tune in…some kind of message is trying to surface. The High Priestess is a symbol for intuitive awareness and spiritual knowledge -- it's your inner voice and intuitive guidance.

Many times my clients and students will say, “I’m not intuitive at all.” I, however, believe we all have intuitive abilities; it’s a matter of how comfortable we are at tuning into them.

When I got my first tarot reading, I was amazed at how the tarot reader was able to layout these funny looking cards and describe my emotions and the situation I was experiencing. How did she know – was it a gift – something that the cards magically revealed?

What was even more amazing was after she and I became friends and she told me that I could read tarot cards. Me? At the time I was known by most of my friends, family and colleagues as the “Spreadsheet Queen.” My logical side couldn’t help but take over, especially when I was stressed or trying to make a decision.

My friend and mentor helped me select my first deck of tarot cards. The first time we sat down, she said, “Read my cards.” I knew NOTHING about the cards. They looked like foreign trading cards to me. How could I make any sense out of it? I felt like I was trying to read a book in another language…impossible.

The first trick was to give my logical side some time off. Just giving that energy a break felt good…AND it also felt very uncomfortable. But I did it…and ended up giving her a pretty good reading.

The energy of the High Priestess had awakened and the more I use it, the stronger it gets. It’s like lifting weights to strengthen your muscles. If you use them they grow stronger. If you don’t use them, you lose them.

Have you ever had a time when you tuned into your intuition and either didn’t recognize it or didn’t trust it? Then when the situation played out, you thought, “I knew that would happen. Why didn’t I trust my intuition?”

Pulling the High Priestess card today is a reminder to awaken and use this energy…every day. Think of the High Priestess as a wise woman, a sage or a goddess.  She is the part of you that gives voice to your intuition. It’s time to listen. There are messages here for you. Important messages.

Know that intuitive messages come in many forms – you might see or hear something that prompts your intuition, or possibly you have a feeling inside that is hard to describe. If so, this may be your High Priestess speaking to you.

The message today is if you’ve had an idea rolling around in your head or thought of a person frequently (perhaps someone you haven’t seen in a while) or have an undefined feeling…listen, trust...and then act.

Take a few minutes now and tune into YOUR High Priestess. She has something to tell you. What is it?
