Intuitive Tuesday -- Ace of Swords

Every Tuesday I select one tarot card and give you my interpretation of it. See how it applies to your life and ask, "What messages are here for me ?"

As I shuffled the cards to select this week's Intuitive Tuesday tarot card, I said, "Tell me what messages I need to bring to my readers this week."  I selected the Ace of Swords from the Gateway to the Divine Tarot deck by Ciro Marchetti.

Being the first card of the suit, the Ace introduces the suit's energy.  Aces  invite us to step into new themes and engage in the experiences of the suit. The suit of Swords refers to conflict or intellectual/mental pursuits.

The Ace of Swords can indicate the beginnings of success within the realms of intellect and ideas.  It could symbolize discovering mental clarity or  finding strength in adversity. It could also refer to the power of your thoughts to create your world and help you figure out and/or think your way through complicated situations and projects.
This card reminds me of one of my friends; I'll call her Lilly. Lilly has been in a relationship for about a year, and has slowly watched her relationship to her once fiance, dwindle from being engaged to be married to more of a roommate situation. They don't hate each other; it just isn't a good match. She feels it's lucky that they both found out before becoming legally wed, but they are still legally and financially bound together, after buying a house together.

Lately she's been gathering her strength and conviction to move out of this situation. And so today, as I tap into the energy of the Ace of Swords, I thought of Lilly, knowing that she has this energy at her disposal and is ready to face what's in front of her.
No matter what this symbolizes for you today, know that the Ace of Swords is a powerful card.

If you've had random ideas pop up lately or felt overly creative (mentally), this card encourages you to pursue these interests and expand on these ideas. If you have a project that requires thought and "figuring it out," now is the time to dive in. Your mental energy is high and will carry your forward.

Use your intellect to build the structure and then invite your emotions/intuition to fill in the "in between." Think of the construction of a house. There is a lot of engineering that goes into its design and structure (intellect, logic, measuring, etc.). And once the structure is complete, the "feel" of the house (colors, decoration, lighting, etc.) is what makes it a home.

The Ace of Swords invites you to build the structure of whatever project that lies in front of you...and then creatively "decorate" the idea with feelings, emotion and inspiration.

What one project comes to mind when you think about and feel the energy of today's card, the Ace of Swords. NOW is the time to apply yourself.

Take advantage of the energy of the Ace of Swords. Think about it. Then do it.

Using mental energy? Now you're talking my language. I love it when I can think my way through a situation.

Now I just have to figure out which situation ;-).

The only thing looming in front of me right now is the hip replacement and I am getting more and more nervous and scared as the day gets closer... I guess I should use that mental energy to power me through this darn surgery... I just want it to be over and be on the mend...

I am feeling this energy and it is such a refreshing change from the previous stuck energy of being powerless to impact a situation. I, too, like knowing I have the ability to think through a situation.

Suzi, that sounds scary! I've never had surgery so I don't know exactly how you feel. But I do know a few people who have had hip or knee replacements and their common theme after surgery is "I wish I would have done this sooner." Good luck!
